Windows Vista – Missing Hard Disk Space

By peter.stilgoe

Looking for missing hard disk space on your Windows Vista installation ?

Well Vista creates restore points and shadow copies of your C:\ drive on a daily basis. This often equates to many Gigabytes !

Load Disk Cleanup, then if you click on the more options tab, and choose to ‘clean up’ the restore points and shadow copies, you should find a lot of disk space reappear. It will still keep your most recent shadow copies & restore points, but clears the older stuff off that your unlikely ever to use.
