Hello Peter,
It's actually a nice idea to share such information. But when coming from Google it would be nice to know following information:
1. Sharepoint Version = ?
2. You are talking of a feature/tool but you don't mention it's name or even it's location
3. The link "Click here" doesn't work at all...

I tried to import a spreadsheet over the "import spreadsheet-option" what wasn't working. First of all when I click Browse to locate the file, the file-extension-filter only allows me to import the following types:
1. All files (*.*)
2. Image files (*.jpg,*.png,...)
3. Websites (*.htm, *.html)

When I choose all files and select my "xls, csv or whatever I tried"-file and click on Import, a dialogue box pops up telling me that there's no data in it. But there is data in it. The file was a spreadsheet export from another list in sharepoint. I also did unlink it from sharepoint so that I really only have a normal xls/csv file with content in it.

Thanks for your post!
